Cookie Notice

How SWOTLive uses cookies and similar storage, and how you can review your choices.

Version 2026-10-18 · Last updated: October 18, 2026

1. Cookies and similar storage

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, can also remember information on your device. This notice covers storage configured by SWOTLive, operated by Agera Solutions, and explains the choices available on this website.

2. Necessary services

Necessary cookies and storage support requested services, including account authentication, service security, and remembering your cookie choice. Our authentication provider, Clerk, manages its authentication and security cookies; their lifetimes depend on the session and provider configuration. They are not controlled by the optional-cookie setting.

Stripe hosts our checkout and customer billing portal. Cookies and storage used on Stripe's hosted pages are described in Stripe's Cookie Policy. This website's cookie choice does not change settings on Stripe's website.

3. Optional research analytics and advertising

SWOTLive offers one optional purpose: first-party research analytics for the free Strategic Snapshot. It is off by default and is enabled only if you choose “Allow research analytics.” The free Snapshot, its PDF, and the sample report work the same if you decline. We do not configure advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers.

When enabled, we record counts of steps such as starting, completing, displaying, and downloading a Snapshot. We never include the text you enter, your identity, your IP address, or any device fingerprint. A short-lived attempt token is held in memory only, so refreshing the page or changing your choice clears it. Attempt tokens expire after 24 hours. Expired de-duplication hashes are removed on startup and during five-minute cleanup intervals while the service is running. Unlinked, timestamped observations are kept for aggregate historical trends. Paid totals come separately from existing billing records and are not attributed to free users.

If we introduce another optional purpose, we will update this notice and ask again. Google Search Console verification and sitemap submission do not themselves install visitor tracking cookies.

4. Remembering your choice

When you save a choice, we store your preference (research analytics on or off) in your browser's local storage under swotlive:cookie-preferences. It contains the notice version, the settings, and the date saved—not your name, email, assessment data, or payment details. We consider the choice valid for up to 180 days, or until the notice version changes. This preference is specific to your browser and device; it is not stored in your SWOTLive account.

If browser storage is unavailable or you clear it, we may show the notice again. Optional cookies remain off. You can delete this record using your browser's site-data controls.

5. Controls and privacy signals

Use to review and save your choice. A settings control remains available after you dismiss the notice. Where your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the settings panel acknowledges it; research analytics remains off unless you turn it on.

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser. Blocking necessary authentication cookies may prevent sign-in or disrupt services. You cannot disable necessary cookies through the optional-cookie controls.

6. More information and contact
